DesignMeets… DesignThinkers is a chance to unwind and digest the ideas exchanged at this year’s DesignThinkers event. Meet with other designers who attended the conference as well as designers from other disciplines to exchange ideas and discuss your favourite moments of DesignThinkers 2012.

DesignMeets is about bringing together Canadian designers from a variety of disciplines. The events engage designers in an open forum to exchange ideas and improve our design industry so that we may build stronger relationships with business.

“The Sacred Order of Alternative Ideas – finitre cogitationes ad infinitum (limit your thinking to the limitless)” The design profession is paradoxical, in that we’re constantly seeking to break the mold and be truly differentiating, but we often come across the challenge of big ideas vs. small vision or big ideas vs. budget constraints. These constraints can stifle the design process but they can also enable innovation. As part of our design challenge, is paradox the yin and the yang of what we do?

Format

A collection of quotes, tweets, and probes from speakers and attendees of DesignThinkers will be in circulation at this DesignMeets event. Guests will be given the opportunity to reflect on one or more of the sayings in one minute or less. In this way, we hope to build an ongoing conversation around the thoughts and ideas of this year’s DesignThinkers.
