DesignMeets… DesignThinkers is a chance to unwind and soak up the thoughts and ideas exchanged at DT12. Meet with other designers who attended the conference as well as designers from other disciplines to exchange ideas and discuss your favourite moments and ideas of Design Thinkers.

DesignMeets is about bringing together Canadian designers from all walks of life. The events engage designers in a free and casual forum for the exchange of knowledge and the creation of ideas. This strengthens designers’ professional perspectives and builds a stronger design community.

Theme

“Connectedness”
The global population is now connected through ubiquitous, real-time and social computing, and through the use of and access to billions of devices. As designers, we must be aware of the fact that we are living through a period of time where everything is connected to everything — people, places and things. This connectedness is becoming imbedded in our culture and extended into brand and space, form and function. Design Connectedness is about an ecosystem of social and smart interactions. For better or for worse, must we consider connectedness in the essence of the very things we design?

Format

A collection of quotes, tweets, and probes from speakers and attendees of Design Thinkers will be in circulation at this DesignMeets event. Guests will be given the opportunity to reflect on one or more of the sayings in one minute or less. In this way, we hope to build an ongoing conversation around the thoughts and ideas of Design Thinkers. Let’s connect over drinks and hors d’oeuvres after the conference!
