Another whirlwind event this month! What an awesome crowd at last night’s DesignMeets… HealthCare2 event. We’re pumped and charged for more — more involvement, more collaboration, more design and opportunities to take these critical conversations further. Let’s plant some more seeds and change some more perspectives together.
A great intro to the event and topic: “How can design help HealthCare become more patient-centered?” by Ian Chalmers and Paolo Korre was followed by Aarti Mathur’s introduction to the venue: the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation.
We are a group of people whose common vision and passion it is to improve health for allusing information and communication technologies. Touched by the broad spectrum of players that can elicit changes in health, we work tirelessly with multi-disciplinary and international leaders from the social sciences, technology and health fields to transform health systems around the globe. Speaker presentations began with:
Emily Nicholas of the Patients’ Association of Canada; followed by Author of Design for Care and Professor Peter Jones; Stefan Popowycz, Senior Information Designer, Senior Business Systems Analyst, Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI); and wrapped up with Joe Cafazzo, Director at the Centre for Global eHealth Innovation.
Speaker Stefan Popowycz has made his slide deck available on slideshare.

What’s Next?
We will definitely be planning a third event in the HealthCare Series — as always we’re looking for hosts, venue spaces, speakers, and contributors. In the meantime, check out the DesignMeets… HealthCare blog and stay tuned for an announcement on some other DesignMeets events including “DesignMeets… PublicPolicy” and “DesignMeets… Retail” coming soon in the Fall.
